5 out of 5 stars Great book   June 6, 2008

This is a wonderful book. The glossary and table of all the CD##s are worth the price. The text splits the difference between an engaging overview like "How the Immune System Works" and a definitive reference like Janeway. I found this book to be very helpful in medical school. For someone with little to no background in immunology interested in getting a reasonable med student introduction I'd say start by reading "How the Immune System Works" then move onto "Basic Immunology" to get the details.

It provides what it claims; a simple, easy to understand, upto date, immunology text with great, full color pictures and nice tables. I have used this book for three consecutive years now to teach an immunology course to medical students and neither they, nor I have been let down by it.

I thoroughly enjoyed using this book for Immuno in Medical School. It uses great diagrams and doesn't have too much information which seems to be the case for most books in med. school.
